Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board that allows you to ‘pin’ images onto personalized pinboards directly from the web page on which you found it. Forget the days of bookmarking pages only to forget what it was there that inspired you! Now there’s one place to keep all of your favorite images and ideas from the web.

You can create a board for just about anything you can think of: wedding planning inspiration, home decor, fashion, craft ideas, or ingenious cleaning tips.  Fashion, places to travel, great art, ideas for your classroom, it all there. Pinterest has it all. What’s even better about it, is that you can share your pins and follow your friend’s pins, too.

For all those doll lovers, young and, well, less young, feast your eyes upon this gorgeous gown. It’s a dreamy inspiration for girls of all ages.

Autumn loves ranunculus, so those were top on our list. Staying true to the organic/vintage theme, we picked up tiny white flowers, bright mustard pom-poms and tons of lush emerald leaves. All the arrangements were designed and displayed in repurposed tin cans by two of Autumn’s dear friends who have quite the artistic eye.

Favors for Autumn’s guests were potted herbs and vegetable plants. Echoing the flower arrangements, also in recycled tin cans, the favors doubled as place cards on the family-style brunch table. Favors such as these are an easy DIY. We simply cut ribbon the length of the can diameter, anchored it with double stick tape, then closed the ends with labels bearing the name of each attendee. Super simple to make, super cute to take home! And with herbs such as mint, basil, and sage, these favors are the gift that keep on giving!

We incorporated vintage birdcages, mason jars, wooden clothespins and twine, craft paper tags and recycled cans among the design elements. Mason jars with handmade owl stir sticks served as glassware for the watermelon strawberry champage. They were coupled with cans as flower vases. Potted organic herbs and vegetables doubled as place cards and favors for the guests.

~Invitations~

We chose a vintage, eclectic and eco-fun theme for the shower, featuring sweet woodsy owls. The invitations were designed by Jenn Wong, (Way of the Wong). Starting a library for the little one is one of our favorite baby shower ideas, so we crafted inserts to let the guests know to bring along a favorite childhood book.

Our crafty staff placed Jenn’s cool cards and the baby book inserts in craft paper envelopes with button and string closures. Owl stamps were heat embossed on each envelope, and sent off to the guests with vibrant ‘year of the rabbit’ postage stamps.

Here’s the adorable baby boy who was celebrated at our recent “Bun in the Oven” baby shower.

Say hello to little Rhys!

Catered by the talented Leslie Sarna, the menu included fresh salads, quinoa, crudites, and delicious deviled eggs. To sweeten the spread, a ‘bakery’ boasted all sorts of sweets from coconut cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, to cinnamon bun cupcakes.

Each guest wrote sentiments to mama and baby and clipped them to the red-checked apron with baby clothespins. The guests were treated to favors of red and aqua printed spatulas from Sur La Table, along with cards bearing the secret recipe for Leslie’s Coconut Cookies.
