So, are you pinning yet? If you are, I send you a virtual high-five right now. *smack!* If not, please allow me to introduce you to your next obsession: Pinterest.

Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board that allows you to ‘pin’ images onto personalized pinboards directly from the web page on which you found it. Forget the days of bookmarking pages only to forget what it was there that inspired you! Now there’s one place to keep all of your favorite images and ideas from the web.

You can create a board for just about anything you can think of: wedding planning inspiration, home decor, fashion, craft ideas, or ingenious cleaning tips.  Fashion, places to travel, great art, ideas for your classroom, it all there. Pinterest has it all. What’s even better about it, is that you can share your pins and follow your friend’s pins, too.

You can follow our pins here!

Happy Pinning!

When we were little girls, Barbie dolls were the play thing. I can’t tell you how many hours we sat amid doll clothes and accessories, plucking outfits for dear Barbie. Perhaps she was going swimming, attending a party, or off to play tennis. Whatever the occasion, Barbie always had the perfect ensemble, dressed impeccably from head to toe.

If only Vera Wang had been designing for Barbie when I was of doll-playing age. I simply would have died to hang such a fabulous frock in Barbie’s Dream House. For all those doll lovers, young and, well, less young, feast your eyes upon this gorgeous gown. It’s a dreamy inspiration for girls of all ages.

Have fun and play today!

There’s nothing quite like a garden brunch on an April day in sunny Los Angeles to celebrate a new baby!  To maintain the organic and vintage feel of Autumn Reeser’s baby shower, we decided to forgo a professional florist, whose arrangements can often look stuffy. Instead, we took a trip to the Flower Mart in downtown LA to fetch flowers.

Autumn loves ranunculus, so those were top on our list. Staying true to the organic/vintage theme, we picked up tiny white flowers, bright mustard pom-poms and tons of lush emerald leaves. All the arrangements were designed and displayed in repurposed tin cans by two of Autumn’s dear friends who have quite the artistic eye.

Favors for Autumn’s guests were potted herbs and vegetable plants. Echoing the flower arrangements, also in recycled tin cans, the favors doubled as place cards on the family-style brunch table. Favors such as these are an easy DIY. We simply cut ribbon the length of the can diameter, anchored it with double stick tape, then closed the ends with labels bearing the name of each attendee. Super simple to make, super cute to take home! And with herbs such as mint, basil, and sage, these favors are the gift that keep on giving!

The ever-fabulous Dainty Vegetarian, Leslie Sarna catered Autumn Reeser’s baby shower. And what a spread it was! Guests began the celebration with strawberry watermelon puree topped with Prosecco and minted lemonade. Brunch was served family-style on a long table in the garden: Organic mixed green salad with heirloom cherry tomatoes, orzo salad, curried chicken and cucumber cream cheese tea sandwiches, and an array of beautiful quiches. Upon the dessert table sat ‘potted’ chocolate pudding with cookie crumbs and mint sprigs, red velvet and salted chocolate caramel cupcakes, chocolate chip and fleur de sel cookies, and Autumn’s mom’s homemade cheesecake.

A tip-top table top for Autumn Reeser’s baby shower! Inspired by her current blog, movelifestyle.com, the table decor featured organic and eclectic pieces. Organic flowers and potted herbs in vintage mason jars and repurposed tin cans tied with brightly colored ribbon. Placemats were cut and hand stamped with an owl motif. Wine bottles adorned with paper owl tags served as water pitchers.

Decor was incredibly fun to design for Autumn’s baby shower. It’s easy to get a sense of her style from her recently launched blog, movelifestyle.com . MOVE stands for modern, organic, vintage, eclectic, which is from where we drew our inspiration.

We incorporated vintage birdcages, mason jars, wooden clothespins and twine, craft paper tags and recycled cans among the design elements. Mason jars with handmade owl stir sticks served as glassware for the watermelon strawberry champage. They were coupled with cans as flower vases. Potted organic herbs and vegetables doubled as place cards and favors for the guests.

Whoooo’s having a baby? The fabulous Autumn Reeser is, that’s who! This past weekend we threw Autumn’s baby shower, and we are tickled to share all the details with you over the next few days.

~Invitations~

We chose a vintage, eclectic and eco-fun theme for the shower, featuring sweet woodsy owls. The invitations were designed by Jenn Wong, (Way of the Wong). Starting a library for the little one is one of our favorite baby shower ideas, so we crafted inserts to let the guests know to bring along a favorite childhood book.

Our crafty staff placed Jenn’s cool cards and the baby book inserts in craft paper envelopes with button and string closures. Owl stamps were heat embossed on each envelope, and sent off to the guests with vibrant ‘year of the rabbit’ postage stamps.

Howdy, world!

Here’s the adorable baby boy who was celebrated at our recent “Bun in the Oven” baby shower.

Say hello to little Rhys!

What could possibly be cuter than a ‘bun in the oven’  baby shower theme? It’s perfect, especially since the honored mama-to-be is waiting to be surprised about the sex of the baby. Rather than a typical baby blue or pale pink palate, this celebration popped with color. Bright crimson, cool aqua and white polka dots set the tone for this super sweet shower.

Catered by the talented Leslie Sarna, the menu included fresh salads, quinoa, crudites, and delicious deviled eggs. To sweeten the spread, a ‘bakery’ boasted all sorts of sweets from coconut cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, to cinnamon bun cupcakes.

Each guest wrote sentiments to mama and baby and clipped them to the red-checked apron with baby clothespins. The guests were treated to favors of red and aqua printed spatulas from Sur La Table, along with cards bearing the secret recipe for Leslie’s Coconut Cookies.

Congratulations on the new baby!
